1. About us

notesfromthevilla.com is operated by AB Solutions, registered in the Netherlands (btw-id NL005167936B52), Buorkerij 142, 8941 AN Leeuwarden. you can reach us at hello@notesfromthevilla.com. these terms apply to every order placed on the site. by placing an order you agree to what's written below.

2. Orders & acceptance

an order is a request to buy. it becomes a binding contract only once we send an order confirmation email. we may refuse or cancel an order if a product is out of stock, mispriced, or if we suspect fraud — in which case any payment already taken is refunded in full within 14 days.

3. Prices & payment

all prices are shown in EUR and are the full amount you pay to us. shipping is added at checkout and shown before you confirm. for orders shipped from outside the EU, we do not charge VAT — instead, import VAT and a small customs fee are collected on delivery (see section 4a). payment is charged at the moment of order via our payment processor. we accept the methods listed at checkout.

4. Delivery

your order is dispatched from our production partner outside the EU, or from an EU warehouse when stock is available, and delivered by a tracked carrier. delivery typically takes 4–7 business days. delivery times are estimates, not guarantees — if we can't deliver within 30 days, you may cancel for a full refund. the risk of damage or loss during transport rests with us until the parcel is delivered to you. if a parcel is lost in transit, write to us and we'll sort it out.

4a. Shipments from outside the European Union

1. for products shipped directly from outside the European Union, you (the consumer) act as importer of the goods. upon import, the following charges may be levied and are payable by you: (a) import VAT at the rate of your country of delivery (e.g. 21% in the Netherlands, 19% in Germany) calculated over the value of the goods, (b) a customs duty of €3 per product category for consignments below €150, and (c) handling fees charged by the carrier (typically €4–€15).
2. these charges are levied by the customs authorities and the carrier, not by us, and vary per country of destination. we have no influence on the amount of these charges.
3. if you refuse to accept the shipment or do not pay the import charges, as a result of which the shipment is returned or destroyed, this is treated as an exercise of the right of withdrawal. we refund the purchase price and standard delivery costs in accordance with section 6. costs of the return transport may be deducted from the refund insofar as permitted by law.
4. import charges you paid to customs or the carrier are not refunded by us — you may be able to reclaim these from the customs authorities when the goods are returned.
5. section 4 remains unaffected: the risk of damage or loss during transport rests with us until delivery to you.

5. Cancelling before shipment

changed your mind? you can cancel your order free of charge within 24 hours of placing it by emailing hello@notesfromthevilla.com with your order number. after that the parcel is usually already at the warehouse being packed, and the normal right of withdrawal (section 6) applies once it arrives.

6. Right of withdrawal (EU)

under EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU) you have 14 days from the day you receive the goods to withdraw from the purchase without giving any reason. items must be returned unworn, unwashed, and with the original print intact. email hello@notesfromthevilla.com first for an RMA. buyer pays return shipping unless the item is damaged or the wrong item was shipped. we refund the full order value (including original outbound shipping) within 14 days of receiving the return. if a product arrives damaged or defective, we make it right regardless — see the returns page.

7. Warranty

your statutory rights under EU consumer law apply in full. items should match the description and be free from defects. if they aren't, contact us and we'll repair, replace, or refund.

8. Liability

our liability is limited to the value of the order. we are not liable for indirect losses such as missed events, holidays, or lost enjoyment. nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Dutch law (e.g. gross negligence or intent).

9. Intellectual property

all designs, photography, and copy on this site belong to Notes from the Villa. you may not reproduce, resell, or repurpose them commercially without written permission. personal use — enjoying the tee — is obviously fine.

10. Changes to these terms

we may update these terms. the version that applies to your order is the one live on the site at the moment you placed it. material changes will be flagged on the site.

11. Governing law

these terms are governed by Dutch law. disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer rules give you the right to bring a claim locally.
